Are your spirits gluten free?

Yes, all of our single malt spirits are gluten free.

Can I buy this anywhere in the world?

This is available in New Zealand only, for now.

Can I cancel if I need to?

You can cancel at any time, just email rachel@cardronadistillery.com and we will process and confirm to you.

Can I gift an entire subscription?

Yes, just make the order as normal but designate the recipient in the delivery address section.

Can I nominate someone to receive a bottle?

Yes, if it's a loved one's special occasion you can ask us to send a bottle on your behalf. Simply add your request in the text box marked ‘Special instructions for seller’ and provide the recipient’s address.

Can I sign up at any time?

Yes, but we will limit 'Magic' to 200 subscribers due to the limited stock availability of single cask releases.

Do I need to remember to reorder?

No, it is an automatic monthly recurring subscription, which continues until you cancel.  If you’d like to nominate the amount of months at the beginning, please note in the ‘special instructions for seller’ text box and we will action accordingly.

Does the New Zealand weather impact your whisky maturation?

Yes, our alpine environment results in the oak integrating nicely with the spirit in this elevated altitude.  Cardrona's spirit is coming along more quickly because of the environment, the enormous temperature variation, elevation & range of humidity. Have your other spirits won any awards?

Yes, The Source Gin was Awarded Gold at the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition 2016. In 2017 it was named as one of the World’s Top 50 gins.  

The reid vodka was named one of the World’s 50 Best vodkas in 2020.  

How often am I billed?

Monthly, in line with your original order date.

If I choose 'Magic', will I know what I'm receiving on a monthly basis?

Select 'Magic' to be guaranteed to never miss a special release. Includes Barrel Aged Gin releases, Single Cask Whisky releases, Limited edition reid bottles and Seasonal Rose Rabbit bottles. If there’s a month without a special release we will include products from the classic range or our gift range to the value of the subscription.

If I choose 'Medley', will I know what I'm receiving on a monthly basis?

We will send you our classic range on a rotating basis, including: The Source Gin, the reid Single Malt Vodka, The Cardrona Single Malt Whisky - Solera, Rose Rabbit Orange, Rose Rabbit Elderflower, Rose Rabbit Butterscotch.  Exclusive releases are excluded - please purchase the Magic if you wish to receive the exclusive releases.

If I visit New Zealand can I take a tour of your distillery?

Yes, Cardrona is open for tours every day, with the first tour departing at 10am. Closed Christmas Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Anzac morning. We are the number 1 tourist attraction on Trip Advisor for the Central Otago region, we love welcoming people through our doors for tours, cocktail and delicious food.

What World Whisky Awards have you won?

We have won New Zealand's Best Single Malt in the World Whisky Awards 2020 and New Zealand’s Best Single Cask Single Malt in the 2021 World Whisky Awards.

What are craft spirits?

We pride ourselves in a ‘grain to glass’ approach, all of our range are single malt spirits made on site at our beautiful distillery, from scratch, which are then hand bottled, hand labelled and packaged. We are a proud team who focus on the craftmanship of our work, to bring you the best spirits possible.

What is the difference between 'Medley' & 'Magic'?

'Medley' covers our classic range - our core products, 'Magic' ensures you will never miss out on a Cardrona Distillery special release, from limited editions to single cask releases.

What is the frequency of deliveries?

Monthly, recurring in line with the date of your first delivery.

What rules does Cardrona adhere to for whisky making regulations?

Cardrona follows the Scotland’s regulations for Whisky making. Cardrona Single Malt Whisky is made with only 100% malted barley, water and yeast. Cardrona does not use enzymes. Cardrona uses a double copper pot distillation. Cardrona is matured for a minimum of 3 years on an oak cask. Cardrona does not chill-filter. Cardrona Single Malt Whisky is all-natural colour and flavour.

Cardrona Distillery is located in the spectacular Cardrona Valley, Central Otago New Zealand. The distillery is a 40 minutes drive from Queenstown, and is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
